G'day Guys and Gals

Need some help identifying a set of carbs for a mate here at work - they have obviously come from a Non-VW source.

I realise they are 40mm Webers but wanted more details.

Can anyone tell me:
1. what they were likely to be off;
2. can they be used for VW (linkage would need to be changed)
3. What they are worth

They have the following codes on them

40 IDF 13 4L
40 IDF 15 56

Cheers

Brad

downdraft alfa??
The carbs themselves can be used, just change the ends on the throttle shafts, get yourself a linkage kit, manifolds and cleners and all good!
A pair of IDF's in unknown condition (run recently??) with no VW stuff I would say around $300.
You can safely say they need a kit through them, then possibly chokes and then jetting and tuning. As well as the stuff I already mentioned.

twin 40 webbers, my mate used to have them on his escort track car before he got twim 45s,

mate those re-kitted are great street carbs for any 1600 - 2L engine, though they are expensive to rebuild.

they cost around $460 each carb when new dude
