my battery drains over a couple of days parked ,no drains with multimeter whilst taking off different fuses etc, someone suggested to me could be the starter as its the only thing not changed when i went 12v,so i took the starter wire off the solenoid and left it for 4 days and had no drain of the battery,is it possible the solenoid is cactus or does it just need pulling apart and cleaning out?. its a 6volt starter🤪any insight into this would be helpfull:thumb

The solenoid should only be activated when the small wire is powered from the ignition.
Ive never seen it, but I guess its possible the solenoid is sticking a tiny little bit, enough to create a very small drain through the main power cable, that goes from the + side of the battery to the starter post.
You could check with your multi the cable that goes from the solenoid, to the motor itself. Once the solenoid is activated, this is where the motor gets power from to start.... direct from the battery.

First time I've heard of this happening...

but its Not impossible...

seeing the small wire is Not connected to anything when the ignition switch is turned off...
[unless the ignition switch contacts are very dirty or burnt and is allowing a small leak]

the same thing may be happening with the solenoid contacts...

Try disconnecting the small wire off the starter motor solenoid and see if the battery is stil drained..
if Your battery does go flat, then you need a replacement ignition switch..

cheers
