Does the primary resistance of a coil change??

Been running an oil filled coil for an electronic ignition with a propper "electronic ignition high output coil"
Says so on the coil 🤪

Anyways AC.net says hi output coils should be 1.4Ω and that is what i was getting.......... cold.

When I went for a decent drive the coil was getting hot. Like hot. Not just warm??

how hot should it get??

The resistance changed when it was hot as well. Got more.

I have had it in for a couple months but never really felt the coil before.
Noticed my economy has been off lately as well.
Been playing with the idle jet size lately ( just mucking round to see what a slight increase would do ) and i thought it was that.

Anyway - changed coil to a transformer type. Same brand as the distributor. Scorcher.

More just wondering peoples opinion as to wether the coil should change resistance or not???
Futue te ipsum!!!

all conductors change resistance with temperature. so i would expect your coil to change when you have run it for a few minutes compared to when it is cold.
see.... air and water do mix 😉
