i can't take the dodgy backyard mechanics on my bus anymore,
If i ever find the stoned hippy who messed with my wiring looms on kombi ill kill them hahah,

any one know of a shop/person in perth that will re-wire the whole bus?
i have been through a LOT of shops and everyone is saying they are too busy (meaning they dont want to toutch it)

any help would be appriciated.

cheers

Oh, a challenge! 😀

I wish I lived a little closer to you - I'd love to have a go at a Kombi... it would be a fiddle job, but much easier than a later model car!

I'm currently collecting parts to be used in a full re-wire of my Baja project will be fitted with EFI and Air Conditioning (new fuse boxes with blade style fuses, relays, connectors, etc). I reckon that this will be the best part of the build-up!

R 🙂

PS: I spend some time in a past life re-wiring aircraft - which, up until recently, only use white wire in their looms - imagine trying to build a loom with four 96 way connectors that is used to connect just 3 pieces of equipment... all using white wires 🤪
40hp, 6V and ...er... slowly making improvements 😂

It's nice to be important, but it's more important to be nice!

You've seen nothing till you've been in an old boat - you add the joys of salt air to the mix. I just tried to sort out my genset engine wiring - and its relatively recent - the engines for it were first made in '79. One wire changed colour (with spliced in bits) five times between start and end.

Good luck with your Kombi.

Kevo after everything else you have done to the bus a rewire should be a piece of cake if you take your time or mabey just remove a complete loom from another bay wreck and install it in your bus plus add in the extra wires you need for your engine conversion
Don't let body work get in the way of real suspension travel
