From a half a world away, I have also noticed the site seems slow at times....when all the other web windows I have open are quick and working AOK.
I would assume the server is located in OZ, but I don't know that for a fact.....and if it is, a little slowness really wouldn't surprise me since I live in the US in the midwest.
Even though I have a very quick broadband cable connection, I would expect a bit of a delay from typical US web sites I frequent.
This morning for a time however, it was almost like the AVD site was frozen and locked up.
Strange.
Reminds me of the time when I had a dialup line and was running on super slow copper pair phone lines.
I would never intentionaly return to that setup again.

I've been on f@#king dial up for a fortnight so really hadn't noticed. EVERYTHING takes all day to load.

But then, where's the issue? If I was in a hurry I woudn't be driving a Volkswagen. 😎
Well my friends are gone & my hair is grey, I ache in the places where I used to play.

The issue now seems to be ISP related, I am guessing a router is down on route to the US.

Hi there,

Just in case it's the box, I've done the weekly backup and then rebooted the system. I noticed a slow down as well.

Let me know if things improve.

On Saturday here in the US, the site was very, very slow......like it was crawling on all fours. It was terrible attempting to go anywhere in the site and the worst since I joined last August. I even came up with some blank screens because nothing was loading.
Then later in the day I noted the backup notice supplied by Andrew.
Yesterday (Sunday), things were much improved and the line speed was respectable......at least it didn't take forever for a page to load.
Andrew, whatever you "tweaked" sure has helped here in the US.
Thanks!

I've also done the final step in our migration from the old servers. We are no longer blacklisted in Spamhaus et al. We have a working SPF record. This should allow mail from us to Hotmail to work. I'm currently testing this. Hopefully, that means password resets will work.
