Is it that expensive to ship parts from US to here? Just got a price to ship a set of pop outs from the states.......$395!!! I had heard it was fairly reasonable.

I've never paid more than US$85 for a parts shipment - and that was Bimmer struts and other bits. Always get them sent by USPS.

Hi

I bought pop outs with freight from the US for less than that, they even came with all new fittings, rubbers and pinch weld. If you haven't already get a price for freight from USPS, the other freight people like Fedex etc tend to charge a bit.

There is a guy real close to me here in RI that has some for sale on the samba. If you do a search under zip code 02904 and within 15 or 25 miles or so, they will come up.
I am happy to go get them and ship them usps for you if that works.
If someone could give you a weight on them, you should be able to get a close estimate of the postae from usps.com

I was thinking of buying them for myself and bringing them home next time I come... but not 100% on them.

are they for a bug?, there is a major mob in Vic that sell early and late ones...I think about the same price.

Don't argue with an idiot; people watching may not be able to tell the difference.

Yeah but I think that US Postal airfrieght is still heaps cheaper than UPS or Fedex etc.

Hi Dave,

I have ordered close to $3000 worth from the US in the past 6 months for the notch from places like CB Performance, cip1.com, glens garage and diyautotune.

Every time has been a positive experience for me. Never takes more than a week having used UPS, USPS and Fedex, but USPS is definitely the cheapest. Usually costs $80 for a box of parts and arrives in 4-5 days.

If you keep the cost of the order (including freight) under AUD $1000 you won't pay tax or customs duty.

I do buy locally as well sometimes. At least you can talk to someone and ask for advice if you need to. You can also see and touch the product rather than looking at a pic on your computer screen too. 🤓

Cheers mate,

Toby 👍
