As above. I run mine in the back right side of the main sump.

I think i well setup oil temp gauge should see 100 degree's, 110 is starting to get hot, 120 is shut down and work out whats happening. .... i don't like taking mine over 105 if i can help it.
I have no sympathy for my car, only the wallet that pays for it!

A 2L type 4 motor with a vdo temp gauge and the sender is bolted into the oil filter cover plate next to the sump plug.
regards tom

Personally I'd take it a little hotter, 110-115 cruise, 125 MAX
👍

Thanking you,
Temp got around 120 + so I am going to ditch the old air flow meter and try a different one. I will see how the temp goes and if still too hot will change back to carbies or go for a microtek computer.
Thhanking you all
tom

If temp is the issue, and the engine is feeling in tune, I would think cooling system or compression ratio. The latter you cant do much about, but cooling...well, is the oil cooler flap fitted, ALL seals fitted, what about the exhaust system heat deflector plate to keep exhaust heat off the cooling tin at the fan intake. Why switch to carbs that are likely to have well worn parts and run lean. Also check your throttle body for wear, this introduces air for a lean condition?
