Mini Radiator?

theres this white beetle that parks outside my house some times, and it looks like it has a mini radiator or oil cooler behind the numberplate?

it sticks out the bottom of the bumper??

Any ideas?

ill try n get a photo...

i thought that but i mean .. this thing is tinnyyyyyy?

its not as wide as the plate, and only comes out a bit at the bottom... got 2 small pipes comming out of it... if it where an intercooelr... its in a really crap spot ... it would get no air with the platei n the way ... ill see if its tehre 2 moz and take a photo..

Many racing & Rally beetles have the oil cooler under the front bumper...

YEAH THATS PRETTY MUCH IT!!!! just silver ....

...this beetle looks VERY VERY stock..... stock exhaust, stock wheels, so i dont really kno if its rally or race... but hey! u never kno... takin the wheels off isnt that hard? so mabye it is!!! im heaps interested now!! ... ill take a few photos next time i see it!

u couldnt run an intercooler on the front
u'd have no boost left by the time it got the back LOL

putting remote coolers over the fan intake was a dodgy practice mainly offroaders did 20 years ago

all it did was preheat the cooling air on engines that were already struggling with massive mud tyres

if its not an oil cooler the other thing its likely to be is a tranny cooler

or one other possiblity but higly unlikely is a/c condensor
but theyre pretty hefty insize compared to oil coolers

the only thing wrong with the cooler being there behind the shroud is you will be pulling very hot air into the fan whitch is trying to get cool air many a bug head has suffered the cook cook cooking outcome of this fitup
