Well what a top day, even if the mongrel buggy did let me down on the way home, great to put faces to some of the names on here, thanks to Rose and Ian for organising the run and the free BBQ, usualy free means you get what you paid for, not true in this case, thanks again, now its back to the shed to find out why the fuel's not getting through.
I dream of a day when a chicken can cross a road without being asked for it's motive!

I would have been slightly disappointed Rose....

that Buggy on the hoist

has a red engine [like mine]

and has yellow pushrod tubes....

mine are metallic silver....

but the yellow looks much better....... 😂😂😂

and there was a metallic silver Beetle there too
[same colour as my beetle]

Good roll up Rose...
getting bigger & bigger...

cheers

Lee

car forums. where a lot of peoples good intentions end up taking a good old car off the road forever never ever to see the road again. 🥲

Some more pics, sorry if I doubled up on any. Me and the young bloke had a great day, good to meet some fellow dubbers. Looking forward to next year already, wife & daughter might come next year I reckon they'd love the shops at Morpeth. Is Morpeth always that busy?

Cheers
Brendan

Great pics, do you mind if I steal the last photo with my light blue bug in it. My son was pleased when you arrived at Wallsend & pulled out the football he couldn't wait to get over there for a kick. I really liked your bug.....lots of character....what plans do you have for its future.🤓

Thanks, go for your life. I was king of the kids there for a while. I am very soon to have a garage/shed/workshop for the first time since leaving home, so the beetle will be coming off the road for a full rebuild. I think it will end up a mix of all the different styles, bit of Cal, bit of GL, bit of resto, bit of old school racer, I cant seem to pick a particular theme I'm going to stick with. I gues we will all have to wait & see what happens.
Thanks for the comments.
Cheers

So who from Sunday is going down to the Nationals? We are going and taking neighbours who have been bitten by the beetles and are looking at buying one. Not going in the bug but taking the Monaro as Leesa is having knee surgery agian today and will need room to move. Leaving on Sunday morning just for the day trip. If others want to go together on the Sunday that would make a great day. So far we have us, my brother (Green single cab bay window), he is taking his Mazda for this one, and the neigbours. Anyone else??
