I bought a VDo Xtreme tach of Ebay. I was assured it was 'brand new' never started etc and it looked it BUT of course it is stuffed; the needle darts back and forth at idle, the shift light flickers etc.

Does anyone have experience with any instrument repair places in Sydney? Pacific (ex-Gordon/Lindfield) seems to be gone...

Hi

Is it fully sik maate?

I had a incorrect reading problems with a VDO tacho in my daily 1303. To run on a normal points ignition it needed a resistor in the - wire, if you call Barry at

Tell him you know me, hes the one that told me about the resisitor, maybe your tacho needs a resistor as well.

Or you could mount it inside your stock speedo?

Hi

I bought a Garmin GPS the other day. The GPS reading compared to the speedo in my BA Falcon work ute reads way under, its worse than my daily 1303 with low profile tyres.

No mention of a resistor in the on-line instructions and yeah I got the pre-sets to the four-cylinder position

Hi

The tachos that that needed the resistor was a small batch and VDO in their wisdom didn't think any cars that still used a Kettering ignitions would still be on then road.

On my car it either read high or low, cant remember, as if the switches were set wrong.
