The 56/57 has a spring mount with parallel sides - up to 55 it had a triangular mount to suit the bigger spring.

The one on ebay is the Oct 52-July 55 deck lid.
This is a 56/57 deck lid.

probably did, but wasted that time doing other things.

as stated, the spring mount is different.
from the outside you cant tell the difference.
I was gonna turn this one into a cabrio style lid, but you can buy them repro now anyway.

there's a few holes along the bottom edge.
the centre is solid, I've just buzzed it back cos there was some filler in there thad didn't need to be there.
