Hi Guys,

Any thoughts on ratio rockers (1.25 or 1.4).

Basically a 2007cc with 40 inlet and 35 exhaust. AP3 cam and a couple of SUs (45mm).

Is there likely to be much bennefit?

Hi
I know they do make a difference..

1.25 to 1 are fairly common

1.4 to 1 would really open up the valves if you rev Your engine..

If Your cam already opens the valves up more than normal
the 1.25 to 1 should help,,

Make sure the cam you have will take them. I think in most cases 1.25 shouldn't be a problem, but 1.4 with the wrong cam could be an issue.

This is when talking to a good engine builder or a guru (ie dangerous) about cam (duration, lift etc), heads, capacity etc is handy.

But on a stdish motor, 1.25 should be fine and give you a little more flow.

Tell us more about those twin SU's!
We want pics!

The ratio rockers will have more effect with the correct cam,
if your heads have good air flow.
I would consider that area first.

What about on a standard 1600DP? Would 1.4 work fine with standard cam or should you only use 1.25s? How much of a gain in hp do ratio rockers actually give?

Im confused. How do you upload a 45kb photo.

Though I suspect I will lose all credability with the istalation of twin SU's (though it runs well enough with out flat spots etc - if a little rich on a 1600).

About 2 or 3 hp on a 1600.

I'm selling a set: forums.aussieveedubbers.com/viewtopic.php?tid=70725

Quote from Aircooled.net aircooled.net/gnrlsite/resource/articles/mods.htm website:

"Install Ratio Rocker Arms: 1-2 hour installation time. If you can adjust valves, you can install these. They MUST be used with shorter pushrods. We recommend 1.4 rockers (which DO work on stock engines). 1.25 rockers give you almost no gain for your work; waste of effort. 1.25's work well with some high performance cam shafts but you have to know what you're doing! 1.4's will really wake up a stock engine, especially if it's a dual port, and if you have additional carburetion."

can help you out with a set of 1.4 autocraft type 1 rockers if you're looking to buy some.
I was gonna use them, but could use the cash elsewhere on my project.
Most people seem normal, till you get to know them.
