Anyone familiar with the T1600 system produced by http://www.vwturbokits.com/ or know of anyone in Australia using the kit ?

I'm after a little more info on pro's and con's of the unit prior to purchase. The write up sounds unreal, but I'm after a 2nd opinion regarding there running temps and street / drag application.

Any help would be appreciated regarding the kit.

Thanks
Peter / Bones

Looks like a very pretty thing, but what is the effect of running forced induction off one bank and then letting the other bank breath unrestricted? I know that some people with v8s run a single off one side but it just doesn't seem right...

Surely that is just an illusion of the photo.

it is an optical illuision
1 &2 go into the collector in the right hand side next to the crank pulley
kit fits under decklid with standoffs

its not the lowbugget system
very similar but from what ive heard talking to ppl with both kits lowbuggets kit isnt the best
there can be upto 12 month wait for it and nearly every kit requires tweaking to fit
they work alot better to with a DHLA or a DCOE instead of the POS progressive

Lowbugget and vwturbokits are the same dude.

Search the main VW sites for a reputation before you spend and then wait.

It's really not that hard to fab your own.
I looked at these kits more for how they did it rather than the view to purchase.
At the end of the day you pay through the nose for a bolt on kit.
However in saying that the aussie dollar is better against the US dollar.
Also check shoptalk forums under the forced induction thread there are a few guys who have these kits.
