Okies,

***noob alert***

My 68 semi auto's generator died which as you know can be fairly costly to rewind. I ended up just payign the extra and getting a alternator and all the bits needed from classicveedub.

So i have an alternator with a B+ and a D+ on it, someone care to explain how its all wired up, especially the removal of the generators regulator and how its al rewired (im happy to reire the whole car if needed :P (and with te VW orig wiring its normallt needed :P)

Im guessing its not a simple use the wires that were on the generator and remove the regulator.

Depends on if someone has botched up your wiring but normally it is just a simple swap wires over to alternator

there should be a large red wire and small blue going to the reg, hook them up to the alt, take the reg off and all should be sweet, by rights(if the wiring hasnt been botched)
