Type 1 & 3 exhaust differences

Hi all,

I am throwing the type 3 TP engine in the baja just wondering what the difference is from the old type 1 to the type 3 exhaust?

As far as differences where it bolts to the heads

if the Type 3 engine has the origional alloy housing n fan attached then the pipes that go to the exhaust ports 2 and 4 are longer

are u keeping the type 3 cooling system?

a really bad idea in baja or buggy cos the fan intake is right next to the zorst and will recirculate hot air
ppl in the past have done it but its a recipe for short engine life

the head ports are exactly the same just as dave said the pipes bend outwards on a type 3 to clear the fan housing

yes as per above its a BAD idea into keep the origional type 3 cooling system in a Baja buggy

you need to convert the engine to a Type 1 upright fan

yep converting to up right cool so i can use my type 1 exhaust with my type 1 cooling.
