Would any body have a front crank shaft bolt to fit a motor running the fan on the crank. ( the bolt is longer then a standard beetle one)

Cheers Aleks

if u get caught short thread is M20x1.5

i had to buy longer one to fit my supercharger pulley
just be sure to get high tensile if u go that way

thanks for the heads up joel

i had to measure the thread off an old bolt the other day because i had to get a tap to clean up the first 1.5 turns of thread on the crank(lets just say i wont try to pull the fan on without the pully and bottom out the thread on the bolt again hahah)

also how much boost are you running in your vw? what size carby are you running? does it overheat. the reason i am asking is i might end up turbo'n my bug as we have had a turbo sitting here for ages that is the perfect size for this motor.

Hey Aleks
depends what size pulley i feel like running but its been upto 10psi no probs or overheating and running a 40mm dell DHLA
im building a new intercooled setup tho so i can up it to 15psi

theres a thread on it somewhere in tech talk

i did have dramas with oil getting to hot on my old turbo setup tho, stock doghouse just couldnt shed the heat from the turbo drain back

remote cooler woulda fixed the prob but i killed the engine b4 i got round to it

if i do go with it i was going to run a remote oil cooler from the the top of the orig oil cooler then from the new cooler to the turbo then turbo drain to the hole in the case were the fuel pump used to be.

also would any body know what fan is better for cooling the one on the back of the gen or the one on the crank. ( i myself think the the fan on the crank would cool the engine more.

any inout would be great.

cheers aleks
