Looking for front bumper for '69 Beetle. Not interested in the light-weight south American imports as they rust too quickly.

Prefer Sydney/Canberra area for collection - but will consider freighting from elsewhere if bar is in v-good condition.
Thankyou

Hi Bill

I have fitted a 1302s Super beetle front bumper to My beetle

it only needed new holes drilled in the tyre well...

Now I'm thinking... did I use super beetle brackets as well
I can'r tememeber...

the 1302 super bumper front bumper is a long curve...
not flat like the 1500 beetle.. so the centre is a long way from the body...

I have a new brazillian bumper on the rear of My 1500 beetle.. I wax it every week...
and its been on about 3 years... fingers crossed...

I have thought of bolting the original painted bumper behind it.. it give it strength....
they are very flimsy as You mentioned...

better to get an old original rechromed...

cheers

Thanks guys - Tomorrow hopefully brings some VW stores back to life after a sleepy Christmas break - (it seems everyone stopped work when those of us with time off to work to spend on our projects needed them most ! 😂 ) so with luck I'll get something lined up this week ...I might even be able to retrieve Basil's (Bugluv) front bumper from Mortlake - The re-chroming option seems the go..

Cheers,

Bill
