whoa - Aussie made rear-drive cars are the best value on the planet. In the case of GM/Holden more are exported than sold here and - although I'm not sure of the percentages - a good number of us Aussies rely on this industry for thier living. A lot more than who work in the beer industry. Maybe we need to put up the walls of protection again to stop all the cheap imports.
I love beer but our car industry is far more important long-term than beer. So... cheers!
yeah but there are only big companies making cars now. where as the little guys that make beer are struggling due to unfair taxing. you would be surprised to see how many the beer industry supports. did you know that tasmanian hops are counted as some of the best in the world.
also if you compare a small winery and brewery about the same output size. the brewery is being taxed at least 3 times more. to be a winery that has a cellar door costs around 2 grand in licensing fees a year, where as a small brewery the lowest level is around 6 grand a year and that only allows them to sell to a wholesaler. to sell to the public its almost 20 grand.
now you tell me is this fair.
