Where to buy generator?

Where is the best place to get a generator for my beetle? The auto electrician rang Werners in cairns and they wanted over $400 for a generator!!! I only want the generator, not a whole engine!
Any suggestions?🤖

I've heard they are expensive in Cairns...

Many people on here will have a spare generator or two..
it does pay to have a spare..
as they are very heavy to post... etc

try a VW shop on here for a used one...
try Mick Motors in brisbane for 2nd hand or New...
Leon's motors in QLD

You can get a New Alternator kit for less than $400...
alternators are lighter than generators too.. lol

check out the advertisers in the VWA magazine...

alternators are better if its 12

want any vw bits old but like me, Made in Germany!!!
