Hi guys, just wondering how often you see bay panel vans getting around?

I know like the splittys these were used primarily by tradees, but how many forum members have one? I can post some pics of mine but I need some help from a forum member to do so....cheers zsolt...😂

I have a 1970 with twin side doors.. Currently under restoration.. I have a 1974 that used to be a runner that is now in storage (rust).. Probably not a feasible full resto as they aren't that hard to find (late bay panels that is)

I have a 69 double door panel van too yet to start resto..infact it doesn't need that much doing to it to get it on the road...would I be correct in saying there aren't many double doors about?

Yes, I believe they are fairly rare....

they always look rare when i see one...

most bays had windows...

if they were used a commercial vehicle they were probably crushed or ened up at wreckers yards...

They're not so rare (how rare is rare? or not so rare?) I see more panels driving around than I do ovals and ovals are pretty common. Unfortunately probably every second one I see has had ugly windows put in it.

72 crossover, ex aus post. Full resto underway, not much rust (that I can see anyway!!!).

Have collected a s**t load of parts over the last year or so, full steam ahead from here....... that's what I'm telling the wife anyway.😂

Need to get the "extra window holes welded in", some people need to be shot 😠

Will start a build log when I get a sec.

Whoa, that's quite a few double-doors. I've only ever seen one in real life - mine (a 1969). That's cool. Lets get 'em out and running (mine needs brakes).

I reasonably often see Bay panel vans around the place. Yesterday, for instance, a nice off-white earlyBay near the beach.

Cheers, A.

Yes, that's a panelvan. poor thing. According to the plate it's '75, but that's never felt right.
