Ok so I am after some of those large (1m Cube) concrete blocks fan buy these for a retaining wall. Anyone know where I can buy these from ?
Have looked around and found people who tell me other have asked the same question but as yet have found no one that stocks or carries them.

there usually the left over concrete thats returned to the depot where they make the concrete
give the local one a ring
and ring me when yr free !!!!!!
vw54 is on the mark, when the aggies return to the plant with left overs they dump it into a mould and when its full they send it off, you would want to live close to a batching plant though as they would need a large crane to lift them on and off the transport truck and the cost of that and the transport to your site would not be cheap.
I dream of a day when a chicken can cross a road without being asked for it's motive!
Brad, Bowser & Lever at Windsor might have them not sure how big though..
hi brad, concrete price is between 150-280 per cubic meter, so those blocks will be expensive. if u went to a few diff concrete plants and spoke only to the drivers, you might possibly buy left over conrete from them cheap. but u need to be home most of the time fro a delivery ,because u never know when they have some .
those pebble blocks as they are called ,cannot be sold as they are generally made up of a number of different mixes and at differing times so there is no cohesion between the layers,if any body was to sell them and they fail or segregate ,which does happen ,then they are liable to a lawsuit -- so they make it simple ,no sales no giveaways no nothing,,generally they are used in the companys own quarries to separate different aggregates or sand stockpiles and rarely stacked on top of each other any more
Don't argue with an idiot; people watching may not be able to tell the difference.
they should weigh about 2350kgs approx i can make them for you but its a long way to cart them. you should try and find a concrete recycler close and make a mould for them cause they charge concrete batchers to dump there waste so could maybe get them to pour them for you at a minimal cost. dont forget to have a cast in lifter

Brad, one product on the market is made by Rocla, they are called "mass blocks" they are a no fines concrete. Ie they are gravel and cement with no sand. They weigh about 1.6t i think per block. come in a few different shapes. They have a key at the back to give you a stepped approach front facade.

hi, for a mould get lots of old bugs n fill em up. jus kiddin, what actually do u need concrete blocks this size for, unless u wall is huge retaining, it seems like overkill

cheers guys I will ring around when I get back to Brissie.
They are for a big ass retaining wall.
I can get bush rock for $40 a tonne so if I can get squares for $80 or under I would be happy as they are easy to lay than bush rocks. I can lift around 2T so lift points will make em easy.
Anyway will ring some concrete mobs.
Thanks
Brad
