these seem a good price to me, I have never brought them does anyone know what they normally cost?
as these are adjustable what is the difference from a 2 litre engine?
these are nothing to do with me, I'm 4000km's away

I looked in the parts section and found a good list of vw part shops, I was wondering if anyone on this site has ever compiled a list specifically of online parts suppliers, Ones that have an online shopping page. Even if they are in the states would be fine as long as they ship here. I was unable to find one.

Hmm, the ad is only for two of them - a VW engine has 8 pushrod tubes.
Standard Type 1 pushrod tubes can be adjusted for length (by gently pulling the concertina sections apart) but not while the engine is in place. You have to take the heads off. These ones can be removed and replaced in situ.
Type 4 push rod tubes (is that what you mean by 2-litre?) can also be removed without taking the heads off, but they are of fixed length.
Most of what you want to buy will be available in Australia from our major suppliers - Micks, Vintage, Classic, Volksbahn, AVWPC, etc etc. Once you take freight, customs, exchange rates, time and hassle, lost parcels etc into account, it's generally better to just buy here. It depends on what you're after.
yes sorry I thought they were good if you got a leaky tube not for a rebuild, thanks for pointing out that a vw is a 4 cylinder not just a big single, lol just kidding mate, No, I read somewhere on the net that the telescopic tubes were expensive to buy, I've haven't brought any but I know some of the local shops in my area would sell anything for a mint. I live in perth so shipping already adds up, a little more from america might still be cheaper, though with our dollar hiding under a rock at the moment???.
as well I just brought a T3 van and there is more vanagon parts in america. vw died in oz around that time, so more limited.

Those ones leak pretty bad. Spring loaded Scat or Jay Cee are the go. About $150 -$200 for a 'set of eight'. But for the T3 if air cooled reuse the old ones, can be refitted without pulling the heads, or if watercooled, replace or stretch the old ones but the heads need to come off.
