G'day.
I was looking around somewhere online and saw some really neat looking steps that slip into the jacking points on a bay for the sliding door. It seems like they are intended to be left on.
Are they legal here? Just the thing I need for the family, and still be able to take it off for when the going gets a bit rough 🙂
If they are legal, I might just make myself one. I sure know I never use the bloody crankhandle bilstein jack. Dangerous thing.
-Edited because typo in the tread title was really eating at me.

Not sure what you mean - Campmobiles have fold-out side steps, which bolt on to the undefloor frame. They don't go anywhere near the jack point, which is too far back. They are designed to make stepping into the rear cabin a breeze. They were fitted from new by the camper converters so there is no issue of legality.
Any good VW wrecker out to have one.
Black64, that's pretty much what I meant yeah.
Phil74Camper: Even one of those fold out steps would be good yeah. Trouble is no VW wreckers or anything anywhere near me. I can get falcon, commodore and magna parts by the truckload but any euro parts are rare as.

i fitted these of a rodeo ute and they slip into the jack points after a bit of mucking around come in handy
👍👍😂🙅🥷😬🤓
The fold out steps are available at caravan accessory retailers. But those rodeo sidesteps don't look too bad on the ute ( gotta be some thing good about those rodeos) Les
I like the runners! But I like your SC even more.
True enough the fold down steps are easily available but how on earth can they be securely mounted?
As silly as it sounds I'm also super paranoid about anything that may reduce ground clearance in any place.
