hubcaps cost

Hi All
My new bug has no hubcaps at all, there are a few about on ebay but I have no idea what is fair price for them. What should I expect to pay for caps in reasonable condition?

Anything to be aware of ?

u need to state what model
ie 6 volt up to 67 incl.or from 68 12 volt
ppl here will sell u 1 in ok cond for $10 - $15 used i guess

want any vw bits old but like me, Made in Germany!!!

Where are you Joe?

Catch up with your local VW club guys and you will get some good contacts there. They made millions of the hubcaps, they are easy to get.

If the are orgiinal German propper chrome they are worth twice as much as shiny Mexican / Brazillian ones

Original chrome hardly ever rusts, unless it has been damaged

If your car lives outside this is really worth thinking about

BTW
a straight original chrome hubcap is getting hard to find but they are out there

if you buy the new cheap ones they will probally rust B4 u get them out of the shop LOL

if you want top caps then buy S/H origionals and have them straightened n re chromd
will cost a few bucks but worth it

if its for your yellow beetle ive got a box full of 12volt original german hubcaps

theyre heaps better than these piss weak brazillian things made of left over alumninum foil

if i can find 4 good ones theres yours if u want them
my bug will never see stock rims again

Try Classic veedub, George has his own made up to original spec, with the proper lip on the rim so it wont "pop off" like the Brazilian one's tend to do.
There also made out of stainless steel ! Think around $55 per cap.

its difficult to tell what are good german made caps..
I had a perfectly chromed late hubcap..
but I could never get it onto My wheels...
it ended up with large dents..
something German hubcaps don't do...
Chrome is still excellent..
so there are some good Brasillian caps?? out there..
chromewise.. but they don't have a quality fit.....
and they are always lighter than a German hubcap...

Many VW owners have excess hubcaps hanging on their shed wall.... lol

Lee, believe me german ones dent too

this was my pile i went thro getting some for joe and theres atleast 10 in there that are dented and not from kerb kissing
all of them except 2 were german ones

anyone wanna make some wall clocks?? 😂
