Fuel reserve for 54 bug??

While restoring my 54 bug I have found that my fuel reserve tap is leakig and I have no lever that enters the cabin to switch to reserve. As you could imagine this would be a good thing to have.

Any help from all you early bug people would be great.

and from memory models pre fuel gague had the set up same or similar
so maybe it'll be easier for you to find

As with most pre August 55 parts, they are different to post aug 55 parts. However later ones will fit and work, just depends how much originality you want.

Does yours have the filter fitted? 54s should have the filter, however they were sometimes changed to the later type as seals for the early ones were hard to find.

ZARwerks make kits for the early ones with filters. http://zarwerks.com/ A 54 should have the 6mm filter.

Wolfsburg West also reproduce the numberplate light. Original ones come up for sale on TheSamba fairly regularly.

I'm surprised Dave hasn't popped in with his ring Vintage plug, but they might be worth a phone call to see what they can supply before sourcing them from OS.
