Going back 20 years here, but Greg Curtis at the old Bug Factory on the Central Coast used to have something very similar. Including 2.2 ltrs of pancake terror at the back, giving a flat load area. I think he used to run a Baja front too.

That one has WA plates on it.

I remember Beetle Wreckers at Brookvale in Sydney had one very much like that back in the 1980s.

I sold the ute to a guy in NSW. Was it used as a work car at the wreckers or was it wrecked?

No it was a work vehicle, with 'Beetle Wreckers' sign writing on the doors. No idea what became of it.

No it didn't have any leaks I was doing an oil change at the time the photo was taken and the stains are from my brother's old Shuttle.

This wasn't a kit we made it all from scratch including using a metal plate for the rear of the cabin.

Penfolds' at Georgetown had one in their yard for a while, don't think it was registered and it wasn't red, that was going back a couple of years.
