Here's a strange one that I have never had before nor read about but my cab has recently started a strange habit where somewhere (I guess near to the relays) there comes the sound like a small electric motor, smaller than the fresh air fan by the sound of it more like the sound that a cd player makes when it sucks in the cd but it doesn't come from anywhere near the cd player, and when it's going items such as the lights or wipers suddenly work considerably better i.e. brighter or faster. I thought of maybe an earth but the sound is a nice smooth hum. Now I haven't even bothered to have a look yet myself but it happens very sporadically. I have to say the lights have never been so good as when the hum is going🤪

Wow
If it makes the lights go brighter
find out what it is an patent it.... lol

I'm guessing its a power thing...
as the earths are not done there...
so, a poor connection??
have You turned all the fuses round....?
just turn them around in their sockets to clean the connections...
it maybe a relay buzzing??

it could be worse....
the lights and wipers could have been dimmer and slower
lol

get a multi meter onto the feed wire to your fuse box when its not doing it and then when it is doing it and see if theres a difference. if the hum comes from the relays could it be the headlight relay? but then u say the wipers work faster too. is say voltage reg but thats under the rear seat in your cab isnt it barry? it might humm if it was on its way out. is it a loud noise?

what are you up to tomorrow? ill be down your way might drop in if youre home?

I thought relays and earth but the sound is so like a smooth electric motor and not an erratic noise as you'd expect from a dodgy earth or a relay that's throwing me. Also the fresh air fan speeds up as well so if anything it would have to be a common earth for all of them wipers, lights and fan. Just a shame that the engine doesn't work better as well😀 Hey Nick I'm off tomorrow but I've got to shoot out and get the front bar for Micks baja altered (that I got from you BTW) but give me a bell when you're around and I'll try to be home.

My wife just suggested a power surge ( again maybe the regulator-god I hope she's not right!!) but what could the noise be? It definitely comes from the fuse area which in the cab is centrally between the footwells. I suppose I'm just going to have to have a look🙄
