Is it possible to drill and retap early M6 studs and replace them with later M8 studs?

If you said I was a Volkswagen man, you'd be right.

Hi
On mY 68 automatic beetle....
the 4 holes are drilled for M8
but the M6 studs are tapped right at the bottom of the
M8 holes....
I will be doing this My self one day...

although I have bought a few 6mm stud gaskets now... lol

the M6 bolts are only just strong enough to keep the pump from leaking... I have a dual pump...

the holes in My pumps are all M8...
so, its a bit silly using smaller bolts....

tap the holes and use M8 studs...

cheers
