Okay, once again i've found a beetle and I'm in the final stages of pricing up sorting the rust on the chrome bumpers, and also wing mirrors

There isn't a left wing mirror (from in the car) he says this is stock, I've seen a few without them, whats the crack with this??

Sorry for all the crap questions!!

Hi

Assuming the car is a 1968 or later model with screw in mirrors the drivers side mirror was standard fitment, the left was an option.

We never ever had wing/fender/mudguard mirrors in Australia..

they were/are big in Japan and the UK... lol

We had door mirrors on late beetles 68> drivers door only..
passenger doors didn't get mirrors until late 70s..

If You are talking about early beetles...
they had mirrors usually in the top of the door hinge...
again... mainly on the drivers side...

Very rarely see any mirrors on the wings/fenders/guards...
Most VW owners don't like drilling the holes... lol

cheers

Hiya Danny,

Oh, it all works out!

Up here in the States we never got mirrors on the right hand side. You never got mirrors on the left hand side.

Why? Simple. You got all our mirrors and we got all yours! 😂

Seriously, it's just a matter of which side of the road you drive your car, VW figured that a wing mirror on the driver's side and the interior rear-view mirror were all that you needed. Many folks up here have retrofitted mirrors tro the passenger side for a bit better view.
