starter motor$165 (to good to be true?)

Hi guys, found a place selling 12v startermotors for$165 including bush and delivery, seems too good to be true. Any one had any experience with them? 1.4kW and a 1yr warranty.

Biting off more than I can chew...

I was looking for information on starter motors a few days ago and saw that unit,

At that price I didn't think it would be a Bosch starter motor or of similar quality.

Maybe I am wrong but at that price it smells like "made in China"

Before anyone jumps on me for putting down a forum sponsor, I'm not, you simply get what you pay for with most things these days.

Agreed - like alternators. The new ones' bearings just aint the same quality as the originals.
Liike many things - you are better getting the OG stuff rebuilt

I've come to that opinion as well in the last few days re starter motors, I've had a quote of $250 to rebuild one as good as new from a local VW mechanic.
