well,
as seems to happen each year I am away for work again and I have made it to another VW show that I have never been to. This time I took Sunday off (I have work to do, trust me) and headed north from where I am to get to a small town called Flanders in New Jersey.
It looked like a small show (from the upcoming shows bit in the Sept issue of Hot VWs) and I was looking forward to it. Got there at 8am when they opened the gates for the non campers (Camping was the saturday). Entered the area for the show by walking throught the probably 30+ campers with their buses and beetles (including one with a very nice single wheel trailer). The area for the show was about two football fields in size and flat. Stalls around the outside edge and each row signposted as to where to park you various years of (mostly) Vws.
'Ah, whatever................'
Now these was taken around 9am, when the cars started to roll in, I will show you how many where there when I had to leave at 12, and there were still more rolling in then.
As there too many pics, I'll only stick in a few from each class.
'Ah, whatever................'
The eagle eyed will spot something wrong about four bugs down in the 57 & earlier line in thls shot.

A Subie powered early beetle, with extra 🙂

awesome! keep posting pictures! look great!
any more pics of the suby power? Especially the side of it
Sorry,
was off at dinner and doing some real work.
Bugger, the only other pics I have of the subie powered bug is the spec sheet for it.
That side air intake you can see is replicated on both sides and is finished very well.
Trust ne when I say though, I have never seen a VW clad in Louis Vuitton fabric before, and I am not sure I ever want to again.

And some very nice type 3 🙂
'Ah, whatever................'
A type 4 (very nice btw, no rust and sounded great) and a Puma from Brazil. It was just completed as a rebuild for the show.
'Ah, whatever................'
More of the Puma and a 2CV and BMW....... well the last two are air cooled 🙂
'Ah, whatever................'
Now a couple of custom/Kit cars

Samba or two anyone? (there were a few there)
'Ah, whatever................'
A rat samba that was done right. Good running gear, hot engine, reworked brakes etc and scrappy upstairs. Not just a car that has been neglected, sweet!
'Ah, whatever................'
I didn't get many shots of them, but stacks of Bay campers and a few people moveres as well.
'Ah, whatever................'
A shot of their banner and a final shot around 12 of the wide view of the park area.
'Ah, whatever................'
All in all, a very nice day, nice folk and nice cars.
What else would you want?
'Ah, whatever................'
Great pics! Looked a busy show. Love the suby powered Oval too.
