My 54 has started doing this lately - i can be driving along fine [ city traffic ] but after a while, especially when i've been in 3rd gear for a while, it loses all power, it still revs high, just no power to the wheels, no matter which gear, it will keep at say 3000rpm, stutter and backfire, and then power along right again - at first i though i was running out petrol, then maybe some dodgy petrol but i've swapped the fuel out and it just happened again this morning...

i have dual kadron carbs on a 1600cc. i'm presuming theres a blockage or something wrong with the jets - but could it be something else?

cheers.

Check your sparkplugs to see if they are fouled.

id probably check the jets do you think you may have a blockage? perhaps you have some crap coming through from the tank? my nephew had a similar problem the other day with his new kadrons and it was muck from the tank.
