I still have heater boxes on my extractors.
And i have always had a problem with the under tube burning against the header.
Everyone has always sold me the shiny rubbish and told me to just bend it out of the way.

About 6 months ago i was at Holzl's and i replaced just one side (all he had) with this other stuff made by Fuelmiser.
It has lasted a winter no problems. I was at the local J&N store today and they had some - so i grabbed it to do the other side.

Anyway - just thought i would share

Hi

I have some really old Thunderbird ones that came with the extractors that I fitted to WBX in 1988, they are some sort of cloth and seem to be lasting.

Ive tried the full length alloy tubes, but these usually get sliced by the rear tray.

I bought some from CIP that have their own clips, they didn't last long

You can get that stuff at Supercheap to. I used it for preheater hose and the fresh air box connections under the dash.

yup i got some at supercheap as well and its lasted for years even being hard against the header

its designed to be used as the heat riser hose on 80s-90s carbed cars which connects straight to the exhaust manifold to the air cleaner so its very high temp stuff
