Yes there are a few signs.
Mine is a 73. First year of the indicators on the grill.
Engine just about finished. Still need to do the timing and make up some decent fuel lines.
Also a detail is on the books.
Got a bit carried away on the photos 😎
like i said before, here is my dad's 72 lowlight that he recently bought.Needs work and at the moment is stripped ready for (HOPEFULLY) a respray and panel beat.

(other than the front) looks fairly straight!
The 1600 looks exactly like mine did. All dirty except for the carby haha 🙂
I wish I could get my dad into kombis haha
.So you think its a 1600 ha? yeah the engine number has changed so we cant really tell.I know from my small experience its too small for a 2.0 and 1700 and too big for a 1500 so i reckon its 1600.lol.
He wants to get it fully rebuilt.

Well its definitely not an 1800 1700 or 2000. They are a completely different shape.
What does it say on the back of the carby? A 1600 uses a 34 Pict 3 Carb. Although it could've been changed over the years. Its still a good indication.
PS
All Bay Windows are IRS.
Love the Lowlights and cannot wait to get my 69 on the road.
Cheers,
