One question - What would you think if you saw someone about 80 years old with a VW tattoo on the back of their neck. I guess you reply, what a cool old dood or similar.
Not trying to tell you what to do, just pointing out another way of looking at things as it will be with you for life.
Others with tattoos please dont tare me apart as it is everyone's own business what they do, I'm just trying to point out something to a young fella.

I thought rebuilding a VW would be cheap - Shit I was wrong, just don't let the wife know !!!!

i agree kev, you really have to think about the pros and cons and if it is what you really want.

Hey thats all cool, i dont wanna be one of those people with the same southern cross and not my own name.
I put this on here to see what people think so im open to all suggestions and im not definatley gunna get one, might just get my tongue pireced abd find a vw tonuge bar etc.
The funny thing is that the 'Southern Cross' is a very iconic Chilean and Argentinian symbol. Well Der they are Southern Hemisphere also. Ummm can you name the actual stars in the 'Southern Cross' ?
Hey helbus thats the excat same question my dad asked when i told him.
do you really really love vw that much? word of advice, DONT get something that doesnt mean alot to you, like the majority of tossers with southern cross tatts & "tribal" shit, no offence to those on here with them but every example ive seen the person with it are amongst the worst "im the greatest, my shit dont stink" types
& for the record, yes i do have a tat, its extremely personal for me so i should appreciate it for how ever many years i live for 🙂
another suggestion from friends with tatts, do it in niko or similar for a week or so & see if you still like the idea - those two have full arms & legs of stuff now, they look awesome but im sure glad they arent my limbs 🙂

My thoughts are with Camo I remember a girl who went to uni with my wife, she had a butterfly on her boob but as the years went on it became a huge moth and crept out.

Hopefully not from under her waistband.

Maybe it was a Bogan........the moth I mean.
I'd rather wear a Beetle out by racing it than by polishing it!
Best thing to do is come up with a design you "think" you are happy with and sit on it for at least a year. If after a year you are still dead set on getting that image then get a tattoo. Don't rush it because you're 18.
Piercings can be removed easily, Tats can't....
1963 Single Cab Ute: "El Concreto"
1962 Baja Beetle: "Peanut"
1968 Porsche 912 SWB: "Pip"
1972 Kombi Snail: "The Snail"
2012 Skoda Octavia Scout: "Scout"
2016 Scirocco R: "Rocco"

Do you mean get it on your butt and sit on it?😂
I had the Southern Cross tattooed on my back 17 years ago, well before the olympians were doing it then everyone else. It covers my entire back and is done in my own star design, stars not too big so unless you stand back you can't tell it's the whole cross. It shits me that 'everyone' has the cross now.
I have it on my back so I can't see it and get sick of it.
Tuned Type IV power - shaking out the rust.
I have only one thing to say about getting a tattoo.
Don't do it.
Why not?
Because sooner or later you will regret it and then you will discover that it is almost impossible and very painful to get rid of it. Even if you cover it with a skin graft it will look like you have done exactly that to a tattoo.
Whatever you do remember that you will have it for life, so be very careful about having a name of any sort tattooed on you, as life is unpredictable and it can eventually become an embarrassing hindrance.
P.S. The stars of the Southern Cross are Alpha, Beta, Gamma, Delta and Epsilon Crux, starting at the bottom and going around clockwise.
you can go to the tattoist and ask him/her to place a temp tattoo that lasts about 7 days. Get what you think you want on you body permanently and live with it for a while before you decide on a life sentence.
I had a friend who had a ohm sign tattooed on the left side under her belly button the size of a 50cent piece- three pregnancies later including twins it is about 7cm in diameter and difficult to distinguish.l
think about it .summers a good time to try different places with temp tattoos
do you really want it on your arm , back with strapless dresses etc. on your foot
all the best
I never regreted any of my tatts. I have a number of tatts on my right arm, they don't make me any tougher ,taller smarter! My tatts on my right arm is a story of my life so far, for eg: my kids name's, milestones my heritage etc.. I was supposed to go in for a Hula girl and the Babados & Australian flags next week but i have to spend some money on our bathroom instead so i'll have to put it on hold for now.

On behalf of law enforcement authorities world wide I would like to thank all those people who have tattoos. They make you recognisable by friend or foe (or on surveillance cameras) from about 100 metres.
On a lighter subject, a woman I work with (a Policewoman) spent about.... um lets see.... 30 seconds or something looking at chinese tattoos at the local tramp stamp emporium and decided on one which said like "love". Or so she thought. Turns out the local chinese down this way think shes offensive with that symbol tattooed on her arm and tell her so on occasions. It means something quite sexually explicit from what I can gather.😂
So...off she went to the tramp stamp emporium (which is owned and run by the Rebels. (Youve heard of them. They do toy runs and other charitable works) She complained. They laughed. She threatened legal action. They threatened violence and retribution. She left.🤪
Another one of my mates tattoed his wifes name on his calf. She left. Its still there.
For Christs sake be careful. Its gonna look great when shes 50.

Hah!
My wife has a fairy tattoed on her belly - beside her navel
During her 3 pregnancies it grew and shrunk
And yes - our eldest is early 20's
So we have had our tatts for well over 50% of our life spans
To here credit - my wife is fitter than when i married her and the fairy is in great shape as well
While i would shy away from facial / neck / hand or any tatt on prominent display i / we do not regret any of ours.
If anything, i wish i had a few more.
I think it is easier for a young person to get one more so than middle aged people (which i belong too
🤪)
Futue te ipsum!!!
I was wondering if any people os a Hyundai forum have the "H" symbol tattoed on them??? 😂
Futue te ipsum!!!
bizzare, not hyundai but im sure ive seen both red & gold Honda H's on people previously 100s of holden lions too...

At 18, just about everyone wants a tatt, like me, which i did, got two, then life (family) kicked in.
Now 12 + years later, getting full sleeve/full color, had some more work done today, I cant get enough, and other arm will be next.
Saying that my arm is not made up of alot of little ones, its designed with some meaning that all flows together.
I would say pick/design carefully........and if you continue to get.......be prepared to spend some money.
Here's my VW related tattoos so far.........

My most recent......
I saw a couple in the girls and dubs thread, so I went and found them for you.
Now, at the top left, I think that image would make one bloody good looking tattoo.
I'll most likely be getting the one above on my chest, above my right boob... (Don't really know how else to put it :P)
I have a few tats, not VW related though. What i did was find/draw the design on a piece of paper the exact size i wanted it. Then get someone or yourself to draw it on your body where you want it with permanent black texta. Just so you get used to seeing it on yourself in the mirror for a few days/weeks/months. Keep your design in your wallet for about a year and pull it out every now and then to look at it. You may want to change the design after a few months. If you're still happy with it after a year or so, go ahead. I've done it with all my tats, except my kids names, and haven't regreted any of them.
Ah the good old Aussie flag/Southern cross tattoo. So many 18 year old tough guy wanna-be's got them after the Cronulla riots. It's actually embarassing seeing them everywhere.
