Far too much rake in the roof chop for me, it looks like it's been squashed. The seller says the chop is 6" front and 4" rear. Give me 4" all round and it would be perfect!
I'm diggin the bare metal look... the whole look reminds me of the early Porsche ally bodied (Gmund?) coupes.

Though the fuzz here in Adelaide would have a field day with canaries
Yeah but even chops dont suit beetles in my opinion.......the oval & rear side windows loose the shape in their curved sides and the whole car begins to get out of proportion......the ground to trim line ends up way too much straight panel some how as the classic curve from the engine vents slots to the mid point of the roof alsmost becomes square🤪
The 4 and 6 combo/rakes gives the car some attitude. i think you will find most are raked chops. we should dig up some pics to compare..............i remember a white late model beetle that was around with a square chop and it had nothing on the rake chop of the blue bug from byron when comparing the 2 side by side
Hound dog compared to the Aussie inch pincher?
Yah Sides, it's neat around the pulley hey, i'd be happy to arrive at valla in it be it August with the dubs or October with the hot rods...........yeah bare metal is cool as
Very much one of the better jobs IMO. To have all that bare metal any sus work would be obvious as, so you'd think a lot of quality workmanship has gone into that one for sure. Looks great. I'm normally not big on raked chops but I don't mind this, if it was same front and rear the rear looses all the opening dimensions. My old car was 4" front and back, but without any extra roof fitted, just extra rake on the pillars.

omg i know this guy, well not personally. I was trying to buy a restored fasty off him but it sold before I got on to him.
I remember seeing this car in the reflection of the fasty I was looking at.
whats the deal with the body anyway? is it just bare metal. its been like this at least a few months.

I love that car so much.
The work that has gone into it is truely inspired, but without engineering and a certified welding certificate, not to mention beaming and torsion testing I cannot see it registered any time soon unfortunately.
Would make a wicked drag car though!
