The inner pulley half on my 6V genny has just parted company with the hub - I could hear a tickety sound which was one very loose fan-belt.

Question is, can I use a 12V pulley instead? My car is at work and I've got a lift home. I have a 12V pulley here at home to do a conversion, but I can't compare the two pulleys to check if they'll fit.

6V pulley is from a '67 1300SP, 12V gennie god knows, its a 30A one.

Any help appreciated. If it doesn't fit, does anyone near Wynnum/Manly in Brissy have a 6V pulley doing nothing useful?

Thanks, Angus

Thanks for that. I guess its just whether the bore is the same on the hub, and if there is a different offset. Sounds like I should at least be able to get it going for the 12k drive home. I'll be on my pushie tomorrow morning.

Angus, I only just saw this. Let me know if you need me to drop off a 6V pulley tonight.

Thanks for that, but I'm OK now. I took in the 12V pulley I had - fits on the shaft/keyway OK but the offset is wrong. Belt ends up fouling against the fuel pump, apart from having a bloody great bend in it. I pinched a ute from work at lunch and bought a shiny new one from Mick Motors.

Cheers
