Front left blinkers were not working so I put on the hazard lights so as when moving wires could see if it came on again. Found that it was just a bad connection in the blinker assembly. The hazards were on maybe 2 min whilst mucking around but then all of a sudden stopped. When you pull the switch out the lights on the dash come on but nothing flashes inside or out. Is the wiring also connected with the interior light as it stopped as well.

All fuses looked fine unless I missed one, but whats my first port of call for fault finding?

Cheers, Andrew

How many sets of lights does it take a $229k Carrera S to learn? 😂 UPDATE: Cayman S, M3, B4 now added to the list.

Did you remove the fuse to check?? Most likely dirty contacts where it fits in fuse holder.

Dallas, I didnt remove just looked to see if any wire fuses burnt out, couldnt see any damaged. Agree with you about dirty and poor contact but I didnt touch the fuse bbox at all prior to playing with the indicators externally, at most I pulled out the Hazard switch????? and then it stopped working once the earth switch was fixed and indicators started working again.

Hi Andrew. Always a good idea to take the cover off the fuses and give them a roll with your finger every month or so to make sure the fuses contact. As my car has only travelled about 20km in the last 16 months, even the headlight flasher relay had to get a twist to get it's earth making contact again.

Hopefully I'll be able to put a few km on it this year with a run to Nambucca. The last two times I missed it as I was in the UK at that time of year!

Hi Dallas,
Good to see You will be at Valla this year..

and that is a good answer....
I turn My fuses every now & then...

as the copper gots contaminated over the years and the fuses don't make good contact or even NO contact at all.

I also at times, take out a fuse, and bend the copper fuse holders in a bit.. so they will fit better..

I am going to replace My fusebox with late model push in fuses..

cheers

Andrew, i had the exact same problem once, flick the hazard switch and only the speedo light came on solid nothing else

i think it did the same if i tried left and right with the ignition on but to fix it in my case i had to replace the flasher relay
