Hi all,

Was just playing in the garage and thought I would fit the exhaust up to the engine to see how she looks. Well, as you can see in the photos the muffler is touching the right side rocker cover. Just so you know this is to fit a bug and I have heater boxes fitted and supposedly this is why the muffler is on an angle like this. Does anyone else have this setup. Will have to wait until Tuesday and ring the shop.

Kev

could it be because you are running a stroker and it is W-I-D-E???
Add to that the after market rocker covers??

can you see if it is running spacers under the cykinders???

yep those rocker covers would be the problem they got sharp corners and stockers are round.

easy fix put a spacer between header and muffler.

i think CB Performance sell them to use with o2 senser.

Wrong muffler maybe?? Looks like you've got the bus muffler, maybe even a bus extractor?

Its the right muffler, its designed different to ours reubs so it can clear the heater boxes.

Camo, your problem is due to your aftermarket rocker covers.......like 'thinker' said, just put a 10mm spacer in.

Thanks guys. As soon as 'Thinker' said about a spacer, I thought why didn't I think of that (me non thinker). And 'Bizzare' is also on the money with the motor being wider and yes I believe there are spacers under the cylinders.

Also as Craig said, when you have heater boxes it changes the muffler set up. Also I have a standard pair of rocker covers waiting for me to fit breathers and they will be on.

Thanks guys, I feel stupid now (if the shoe fits) but maybe I have an excuse.

Will there be enough space between the silencer and the inside of the rear wheel with a 10mm spacer?

Just a silly question, you have heater boxes bit are running a 36hp shroud without heater outlets..... Are you going to change shrouds??

Ian.

p.s. I bet that cost you a pretty penny!!! did you import it yourself or buy through a local supplier?

Hi Ian,

I have brand new tin ware waiting for it which I am going to get powder coated I think (dont know how much it will cost).

Yes your right, the ceramic coated exhaust were not cheap and I had them bought in by George at Classic. I am of the opinion of trying to do the best job possible.

In the end I will have a newly painted car and floor pan, new wheels and tyres, new interior and I wanted to finish it off with (what I call) an attractive exhaust system. Spoke with Brad at Westside and he said buying a pre-made complete one was definitely going to be cheaper than him making one.

Cheers, Kev

P.S. Did you see the video of the engine running ??
