where to buy a VW in WA?

gday,

i'm in the market for a MKII golf GTI/VR6..
have looked on the normal 'carsales.com' etc but nothing in WA at all 😠 .. Does anyone out there know of a enthusiasts club or magazine in WA that would list a few??
Any advice appreciated.

put a wanted add on the VW of WEST AUSTRALIA web site or magazine, they have a golf section, the gti boys have meets etc!

Not many Golf Mk2 GTIs sold in Australia, 1990-92, only a few hundred. Keep looking though, they are still out there.

There was no Mk2 VR6. That didn't come until the Mk3, in 1994. That was sold here instead of the Mk3 GTI, which wasn't imported. There's still quite a few of them around, but you'll pay $10-$15K for a good one.

By the way, the Australian-spec Mk3 GL had a bigger and more powerful engine (2.0-litre, 85 kW) than the Mk2 GTI did (1.8-litre, 77kw). And there's lots of them around for sale.
