You may be right with the tube but doesnt an origional 54 gaurd have a different pressing along the edge were it bolts onto the body? A bit of a dimple type folding that runs around the centre of that lip.
The early guards had a stiffening swage between the bolt holes, and a steel tube for the wires.
You may have to use whatever you can find, and modify them, as these early guards would be very rare now. During the late '50s & '60s damaged guards were replaced with the current model parts, so 'original' cars often had later model bits. Good luck with your search.

Some will even say '54 are a slightly different shape, more full across the top.....sorta like most dubbers on a friday night.😂
I'm sure there are other slight differences but I can't put my fingure on em....

I can get you a set of these. Much cheaper and the correct shape. These molds were taken from my mint 54 guards.
They dont have the tube in but if you not going for full original they would be fine.
I had these made for my 54 so if I bang one of them I don't ruin my good guards.
I am going to bend, flare and cut to make the little tube fitting underneath so the look original.
Let me know interested, half the price and off the shelf. 😉 T54

It's moving straight, low to the ground,
it'll pick you up when your feeling down.
