Hey guys. Im after a little info on some wheels if anyone can provide some. All i know is they are 14 x 9 and have Engineering South Australia written on the back side of them.

I was given them some time ago and have no use for them, so i was going to clean them up and sell them if it was at all worth while. Anyone have any ideas on their value or what style they would be referred to as or any other info?

Are you sure they're 14x9"? I would've thought that 14x6" would be far more common. I doubt that you could even get tyres to fit a 14x9" wheel.

Also, do they just say Engineering? No other letters or logo? The only SA wheel companies that I know of are Performance and ROH, but I'm sure that there were more back in the '70s, which Performance bought out.

They would be referred to as either slot-mags, jellybean mags or perhaps 5 spokes. As far as value goes, a pair of 14" rims for a Beetle, with no tyres, bolts or centre-caps is worth a maximum of $50. I saw a set of 4 similar wheels, better than these, polished Enkeis with good tyres and a full set of bolts go for $102.50 on eBay.

Yes 14 x 6 sorry. Wheels and tires are something ive never really dealt with so pardon my idiocy. One of them has a crack in it upon closer inspection so they will probably just go over the fence to the neighbour to sell for scrap.

I don't know who made them but they were called Magnum and also came in 15x7 for 4x130 VW.
