yeah well,,, all i can say is that if it were built right in the first place then it wouldn`t have happened

it`s now down at Dangerous Daves (where it should have gone in the first place) & he`s waving his magic wand over it, pampering it & massaging it & making sweet sweet love to it for me

cost??? Hmmm ,,, not going to say,,, it`s not real pretty ($Ouch$) but still , it needs doing

& before you all start one me (again) it`s got absolutely nothing to do with 20ft wheelstands & all the 2nd & 3rd gear burn-outs & Dohnuts, autocross racing, rally & off-road racing it.. The alloy V8 behind it also has absolutely nothing to do with it`s demise... & if you believe all that then you`re as much of an idiot as i am for doing all that to the poor old thing :-)

the good news it that the new Chrome-molly Drive flanges, Porsche 930-Turbo-CV joints & BMW- axles are all holding up wonderfully :-)

:-)

Soooo,,,,, All the testing & tuning , R&D, refining & updating, Modifying & Improving continues

:-)

Now,,,, --> Who wants to buy a well developed, Highly modified Quad-cam, 32v, Injected, 4-litre, Alloy V8 powered Duel-cab Kombi Ute???? :-)

Hope it didn't break to far from home 😂

I bet the sound of catastrophic gearbox failure would be quite the 'interesting' percussion...

Albins, Albins, Albins ... do they have any competitors or did their quality wipe them clean??
Wouldn't be the way the driver treated the box now would it?

hee hee,,, thanks Dave, nice pic :-)

& this is now box/diff crunch number 10 (for this Kombi)

My old P76 powered splitty single cab ute chewed up a 2nd hand 1600 box every 2 years for 16 years (8 in total) but it munched 8x early swing axle boxes within 2 years before that lot.

Sooo,,,, it`s not really anything new for me BajaChris,,, i`m quite used to those wonderful munching & crunching & mashing & clunking sounds... oh & it happened in Byron,,, just like the last one

Grogy,,, the Pelquin LSD is fine mate , & yes they`re great diffs, don`t fear, they`re pretty damn tough things

& How much you ask Smiley??? ,,, well Handsom young Dave said he`d rebuild the whole thing, fitting all new bearings, new Albins Cw&P,,, mod this & repair that & make new other bits for it here & there,,, all for $500 as long as i let him drive my Buggy in the next Autocross :-) Isn`t that right Dave???

Oh!!! & Vassy,,, no way,,, i`m a very very gentle & conservative driver :-)

just have a look here--> http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=To8-usWZLrQ

see,,, i`m obviously very gentle on the gears :-)

bajaChris

sorry mate,,, i`ve tricked you,,, that video is of my hillclimb/autocross buggy , it runs an early carb version of the Yamaha R1 motor in the front, driving the front wheels, & yes it`s sequential 6-speed

My kombi duel cab has an Alloy $4-litre, quad cam, 32-valve, injected V8 in it & that`s what has Munched up my g-box (again)
