Hi everyone
absolutely over the moon at the moment, my partner and I just bought our selves a brand new Tiguan from Barloworld.
Tried the diesel, but compared to the petrol it felt sluggish and a little bit noisy for our taste. fuel economy aside we got a REALLY great deal (the're all great deals right?) and we pick it up on the 10th.
again stoked!
oh it's a white 125 TSI with leather interior and comfort pack.
So this means this year the bug is being towed to valla, which should be a nice change from the normal noisy trip up.
Cheers

Well done!!!

Did you have to spend $1412 to get a towbar installed on your Tiguan.? That was the cost they wanted for installation on my Jetta.
Enjoy the Tiguan, great ride.
Personally , I prefer the TDIs, having my last two Golfs and the Jetta in the diesel family. You cannot beat climbing up great hills with the torque. They see you coming when you want a towbar.

I've fitted a towbar to a Tiguan..... big job, basically stripped out the interior to fit the wiring setup and computer

Yeah for the towbar we are still trying to decide what to do, VW wants close to $1500 for the install,
but i'm not sure it will be cheaper anywhere else so i'm kind of happy to get VW put it on than some other mob.
reason for the petrol was down low it was too sluggish and the majority of our time driving is in the city...

Congrats on the new car. They are very capable and nice to drive.
In Germany, the towbar retracts underneath the rear valance. You push a button in the trim that sits underneath the rear hatch when it is closed. I don't know if I described that too well but it is on the drivers side of the catch that the hatch latches on to. You push the button and it unlocks it so you can use your foot to push it up and out of the way when it isn't being used. When you want to use it again, you push the button and it swings down and you use your foot again to click it in to place.
That I can see as being worth it but they do charge a lot for their towbars. Our new beetle cabrio has an aftermarket one fitted and it was about $700 from memory.

great to hear!
I just got an 07 T5 a few weeks back n I'm still stoked
n burwins wanted like $1200 for a 2t towbar to be fitted but I
found a place here in the inner west that fitted the same thing
for $640 n so they got the gig..
shop around as vw will no doubt send it to a specialist n why wouldn't you?
I too am towing my bay there as the comfort thing with heater etc gets my vote haha
