Hi,

I'm after a VW starter motor for my buggy... 12V....
took it out on the weekend, had one starter die, and the spare is apparently no good either 🙁

let me know what you've got, and how much you want for it,
thanks

could be the solenoid
they don't burn out normally

brushes may need renewing.... NOT expensive...

When mine died, I unbolted the braided electrical connection between the solenoid and the motor, cleaned all the connectors up, put it back together and it was fine. Still going strong. It was really odd, the motor had been going fine, then one day it just went click. A good clean and a bit of hammering on the housing in case of stuck brushes and all was well again.
