Hi all, I've got a newbie question. Just bought a 57 oval mated to a 69 IRS pan. Its currently fitted with 4 wheel discs and 15 inch Cookie Cutters.

My question is, being that its already running Porsche wheels, will a set of turbo twists bolt straight on? It has aero guards so I don't think clearance will be an issue.

Probably an insanely stupid question but I'm not too proud to ask. Any advice greatly appreciated, don't want to buy the twists only to find they're not suitable!!

Thanks. 🤪

Hi

It all depends on the offset of the twists. Cookies have an offset (ET) of 6" = 36 & 7" = 23

Find out the ET & size of the twists and put them into this calculator http://www.1010tires.com/WheelOffsetCalculator.asp

Let us know how you get on.

Barnabie

You have ad a look through my thread

Generally the Boxster wheels i have are a better fitment than Twists

the Boxsters are 6" ET 50 and 7" ET 40

The down side is they are 16" - not 17"
The upside is they are half the price of Twists
Futue te ipsum!!!

Not sure re the look yet - its in pretty rough shape owing to the lack of care shown by the bloke I bought it from. So Friday I'm dropping the motor out for a good going over - its a 1775 (or similar) at present which is performing reasonably well so thats more of a precaution I guess. From there its in for a full respray & colour change once I've stripped it down a little (or a lot!). Chasing a W decklid from Wayne Penrose (fiberglass repro) and a few other bits and bobs as its currently fitted with a late model one. Beyong that the interior is pretty much non existent as it was at one time used as a track car (but has now been registered for a number of years on full NSW rego.Love to do a Porsche fan conversion too but don't know much about the effect of this - just like the way they look! As with most of these "projects" the list is thicker than the wallet at present so I'll hasten slowly and do a lot of research!!

I used the calculator link (as above) and given that the twists are 17x7 & 17x9 they should fit without any hassles. Thanks again for the help!

Where are you? What ET are the twists?

Steve,
I'm in rural NSW, near Wagga Wagga. The ET of the twists are supposed to be 48, front and rear - they are 17x7 and 17x9.

Thanks.
