Had a great quick visit to Valla after a few years doing "other things". Great to put faces to names..... Matt Berry and Burrelli from QLD. Also a couple of other Type 3ers from Central Coast and Adelaide. Uneventful run back down the Pacific/F3 EXCEPT when a VW goes past a Toyota or Ford or ??! Valla to Old Bar... woman Camry driver happy to do 90 in the 100 until I started to pass her ... ended up doing near 120 to get around her. Old Bar to Richmond... similar from numerous and to top it off, a 4wd decided to do a u-turn from the left lane of the F3, through the centre gully onto the north lanes resulting in a near miss from a following semi as well as a couple of cars traveling south!!
Notch tucked into it's garage safely again!
A couple of pics of the Saturday street thing. Hope it's OK to show number plates!! Enjoy.

I know what you mean about the crazies DH. Suffered the same problems. Driving back not wanting to go over 100km/h so that the fencing wire holding my rokcker gear together didn't let go, and every time a car doing 85 in single lanes got to an overtaking lane they sped up to 100! Very frustrating when you don't want to push it.
That was my first Valla and I loved it! Great to see 5 baja's in the one place too :-)
Hope evryone gets back safely.
Cheers, Marc.

You should have followed me home Pod! Just over the river. Saw all the Holdens there. Forgot it was on. Not into Holdens
😂 but we have two as "normal" transport!

What time did you come down? I left Heatherbrae at 11 am today and the side wind kept me occupied most of the way to Berowra on the F3 where I left it and came down over the ferry to home. Glad you had a good time with the fellow Dubbers.
Disregarding unexpected breakages, I was a bit surprised to see so many poorly maintained engines in cars around the park at Valla! Being enthusiasts of a simple aircooled engine it's so easy to have a reliable runner in standard form for a small price.

Yep, it was a fantastic weekend - my first Valla. Left there this morning and after awesome weather for the first few hours, the wind struck!!
Faced the same frustrating types of drivers that hate doing more than 85kph, but hate being overtaken by an old beetle even more apparently. Also copped some fairly decent rain all the way down the Hume to near Wagga Wagga, arriving home safely about 9pm after a solid 10 hours on the road!!
Needless to say I'll definitely be at the next one as well, but will make sure I get enough time off to enjoy all the weekend has to offer. 😀
DH, we left Valla at about 1:15pm. Great run back actually except for the aforementioned nong's! Wndy at about Karuah from memory and then solid all the way back to the Central Coast.
Great day trip!

It was great to meet you DH and thanks for the ride back to Valla after the cruise. I was not going to miss a chance to ride in a German 1500s and it was great to ride in such a tight, smooth and well maintained type3. Good to hear you got home safe.
RB.
well my type 3 is back safe in the garage after a slow and steady ride home following my cousin in his 56 split, was a great weekend again, cant wait till 2012
BEING ASPIRATED FEELS GREAT BUT BEING BLOWN TAKES THING TO A WHOLE NEW LEVEL....
just got back to Newcastle after traveling from Valla beach Volkswagen NSW weekend.
the Subaru bug went great on the way up I used 7.4😀 litres per 100Ks then running around the weekend to street parade and site seeing 8.2ltr per 100Ks
don't think the fuel economy was as good on the way home on Monday as shite the wind was nearly blowing me off the road🤪😂🤪
😂🤪😂🤪😂
car forums. where a lot of peoples good intentions end up taking a good old car off the road forever never ever to see the road again. 🥲

We were too busy dwelling how we just lost $20 worth of tackle gear on a nasty case of reef in the nambucca river 20 minutes prior, to my misfortune 😀. oh, and a thong... (footwear sort... i swear)... i still had the right foot one... tide stole the other
