What's everyone using for wipers on their car?

I've never had much luck with the wipers on my Baja (one broke last week then it started raining this week) and was looking for tips/ideas/pictures/advice on what the best option is?

I currently have a 6V wiper set up a resistor for running on 12V with the replacement arms that later wiper refills fit.

Are there any later model arms of any cars that are easy to mod to fit?
Is it easier to swap the whole wiper system off a later car in? eg, running two of the small wiper motors that alot of later model cars have on the rear window

Curious about any ideas.

Why not use a 1500 beetle or S bug mechanism and arms? you may have to modify it a little but it will be a bit more durable than what you have.

my mates old 66 bug was retrofitted with a 70s wiper motor

the holes in the body were ovaled slightly as the 12 volt wiper motors are touch wider and the 12 volt arms and blades were used.

the crank can be repositioned so they park to the right side like early bugs do.

That is what I meant by modify it,there are also single wiper motors available from marine suppliers but I would opt for the VW bits.

Best is the one single wiper as used on Mercedes cars years ago...
maybe used on other cars too??

but... You can use a wiper motor assembly off a 1968 beetle
it has two speeds and uses the same size holes... 12v
arms screw on as Your early type but use later model wiper blades...

or

You can opt out for a 1970> wiper assembly...
twin speed 12v
holes slightly larger...
and the wiper arms are the common type...
that are held on with a nut....

Most people with 6 volt cars still use the early wipers...

which don;t do much,.....IMHO..

I have seen 12 volt wiper assemblies cut and welded to fit a 6 volt beetle...
