How many dowel pins are under the crank main bearings in total? BTW this is for a Type1 block.

I counted 5, but there are 6 holes in total (excluding the oil ones), so am not sure if I lost one/or was missing.

Thanks

Hi

I count 5.

1 at flywheel end, 2 at the split centre bearing, 1 at crank gear end and 1 more at the pulley end. Where your extra hole?

I always fit bearings in the case before they are mounted on the crank and mark where the case split is, this makes it easier to align later

ok I have 1 at flywheel, 2 at split centre, 2 at crank gear and 1 at pulley, so I think the extra hole is in the right side (without studs) at the crank gear.

Does this sound right? Is that how I should reassemble?

Hi

Apart from the split centre main, all the dowels should be on the one side, the 3 & 4 side.
