Can anyone tell me if a 71 Super Bug had trim on the bonnet and sides. Also did it have Volkswagen S or L on the deck lid.

Also mine has an electric fuel pump that is US and wanting to know if it best to replace with electric or go back to original.

My dad has now fully stripped my dub and hand cleaned the floor pan and suspension to bare metal ready for POR 15 and has had chassis blasted, going to replace dodgy heater channel (badly repaired) and remove few dints. Cannot see any holes for trim? Could these have been filled in?

Thanks for the help

I would use another electric fuel pump...
I have mine mounted under the fuel tank...

Yes it would have had trim on the sides...
and the badge would have been volkswagen S for SUPERBUG
officially they are a 1302S... Beetle..

in the boot..
they had heavy cardboard in the front covering the spare wheel going up the sides and behind the dash [from memory]

there was never anything under the bonnet itself...

two sets of vents in the engine cover/lid..

the trim can't leak water....

the small plastic clips are a very tight fit...

You could always seal them ?? with silastic on the inside...

my holes were all brazed up too...

I have all the bits to fit..... one day.... lol
